Simplicity Rules

image courtesy of Texas Fly Report

I suspect that at times we fail into the fly needing to please our own sensibilities rather than being a fish catcher. Here of late I have been tying Muddler Minnows out of a sense of personal gratification and not with any real definite angling in mind. Of course I'll wind up fishing, losing and giving away the majority while a few will remain in my stash. The other end of the spectrum is the P Bugger - simplicity embodied, and, by all reports, catches fish quite readily.

Thanks to Gordon Bryson of Tyler TX of the Lone Star Fly Fishers for sharing this out.
